The All Muscle Custom Car and Motorcycle Show was held this past weekend (August 29, 2009). The goal was to raise money and awareness for some local charities whose donations have been dramatically decreased as a result of the economic downturn. Local businessmen recognized the need to donate money to these organizations because of the crucial social value that they provide to local kids. The charities that received benefit were the Boys and Girls Club of America - Adelanto, Apple Valley Seminoles, Olive Crest Foster Family High Desert and High Desert Judo.

"It was a unique event" said All Muscle Customs' Richard Hernandez, AMC's founder and co-owner, "because it brought together local children's charities and automotive enthusiasts in a way that greatly benefit the children living in the High Desert."

The triple digit temperatures didn't keep away the 1,000 visitors, plus the 100 hot rods, classics, muscle cars and motorcycles. Sonic Burgers was on hand a gave complimentary water and iced drinks to visitors. Sponsor KFROG 103.1 was there playing music and mentioned the show numerous times on their radio programs in the weeks prior to the event.

One sponsor, Phil Day, of Daytec Center, said. "We wanted to be part of an event that was more about charity than the bottom line. Kids up here need important places where they can build character and receive good skills."

Local businesses bridge the giant financial gap between government funding and children's programs, explained Chris Bergman, co-owner of All Muscle Customs. "Kids love cars and Classic car and motorcycle owners are charitable people."

Next years show date will be revealed soon. The plans are to increase advertising and generate even more sponsors so that the charities can see greater donations.

Sponsored by Daytec Center, KFROG 103.1, and your friends here at All Muscle Customs.
